Interview
preparations. (When, where, and how did you conduct and record the
interview? Whom did you interview?)
I
asked my friend John the one I interview him in the first time about I want to
meet any guy from her country.
So
he called one of his friends, he knows him for long time, his name is Mike. We
planned for the meeting at the library in the SCSU on last Friday Tuesday
Country report:
Republic
of Ghana located on the northern coast of the Gulf of Guinea in West Africa,
and it is one of the important countries in West Africa. The capital of Ghana
is Accra. Became independent from Britain in 1957. an area of 14.159 million.
Ghana was called former Gold Coast. The current name was called on the name of
the country known historical empire of Ghana.
English
is the official language of Ghana and is universally used in schools in
addition to nine other local languages. The most widely spoken local languages
are, Ga, Dagomba, Akan and Ewe.
Traditional
religions accounts for 5.2% of the population. The Christian population also
accounts for 71.2% of the total population and includes Roman Catholics,
Baptist, Protestants, etc. The Muslim population (17.6 percent of the total) is
located chiefly in the northern part of the country.
Its
currency is the cedi. Major cities are Accra, the capital, has 10% of the total
population. Kumasi is the capital of the Ashanti region. Sekondi has an
artificial harbor and was the first modern port built in Ghana. Other major
cities include Tema, Tamale, and Cape Coast.
The
population of Ghana is divided into some 75 ethnic groups. In the recent census
of 2012 the estimated population of Ghana is 25 million (females-51%, males
49). The most densely populated parts of the country are the coastal areas, the
Ashanti region, and the two principal cities, Accra and Kumasi.
In
Ghana they have many holidays, the most popular holidays are Independence Day,
Easter Monday, May Day, Eid-Al-Fitr, and Eid-al Adha.
Ghana
is agricultural country Most of the population live on agriculture, the most
prominent of cocoa crops. Ghana has a wealth wooden, metal.
Economy
and Investment Opportunities: Ghana's economy depends on the export of raw
materials such as gold, cocoa and timber.
Britain
is one of the largest investors in Ghana.

M: no,, Actually this my second

I would to by how do like you like the
weather in St.cloud's?
M: it is too cold
winter. Actually, I heat the weather in winter.
It
is ok in the summer, like the weather in my country.
why do you choose SCSU?
M: look St.cloud is
small and cheap city, it is good for study.
And
I hear the Computer Science is easy in SCSU. But the one I heat about St.cloud
is as I tolled the winter, and there is nothing to do for fun.
How long have you been in the states?
M:Three years, I was in
cities when I was studying English program in ELS.
After
I finished level 10. I came hear to in St.cloud
4-What do you do for leisure?
M: Actually, I love to
play soccer, so you goanna see me most the time play video game (Fifa14) or in the gym. Also I
like to hangout with my friends. And during the weekend I go to the cities to
work.
5- Did you face any racist since
you came here?
M: Unfortunately yes,
one day I went to the airport to pick up one of my friend, he is coming from….
When I was waiting him a gay came to me
and he start ask me question( what is you name , how old are you?) after he
knows I am Muslim, he called his boss with three guys and they took me to small
room, then they started ask me about my friend( his name, his face, which
country). After they saw my friend they released me.

yourself?
M: My name is Mohamado Diouf, I am 22 years old, I am from Ghana, and I am Muslim. I heat clod weather. I am Temperamental some time. I wish to visit Saudi Arabia specially Makah

7-How often do you communicate with
your family back at home?
M: I call my family once
in week by Skype, Viber.
8-What is the biggest holiday in your
country? Please explain about the holidays (Activities, Food, Date, Origin, and
etc,)
M: as I am Muslim we tow biggest Holiday in my country are Eid Alfter, and Eid Aladha. In these holidays we wake at the Morning to do Eid Pray, after that we go with all my cousin to my grandfather house to eat breakfast. Then we go to Sacrifice Sheep. In the lunch we cook the sheep and eat it together. Also, next day we start visit all my cousin and neighbor.

9-Do you find it difficult to practice
your religion here in the U.S in the same way you do in your home country?
M: some time, but praise be to Allaah
there are five Mosque in St.cloud so I can pray any time.
10-Can you tell me some important
things in your culture ?
M: my culture follows the Islamic Sharia
R: That’s cool can you explain it?
M: You will see on one in my family
doing something incompatible with Islam
11-Whats the biggest difference between
American culture and your culture?
M: the Hospitality, in Ghana the people is too kind if you ask him for help they
never say no.
12-What's your goals for the future?
M: after I graduate from
school, go back to my country, find good job and salary and visit Saudi Arabia
in Makah to Alhaj.
